UPON DELIVERY AND BEFORE UNPACKING, THE SIGNER (CUSTOMER / INSTALLER /RECIEVER) SHOULD CAREFULLY INSPECT OUTER CARTON AND WOOD CRATE FRAME FOR DAMAGE. NOTE: UPON DELIVERY SIGNER SHOULD NOTE ANY APPARENT OUTER CARTON DAMAGE ON TRUCKER'S PAPERWORK. SIGNER MUST IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY TRUCK DELIVERY COMPANY AND Fountain of Youth Bathrooms INC. IF ANY APPARENT OUTER CARTON DAMAGE IS FOUND. REMOVING TUB FROM ITS PACKAGING, CAREFULLY INSPECT TUB AND ITS COMPONENTS. REPORT ANY ACTUAL DAMAGE IMMEDIATELY TO Fountain of Youth Bathrooms INC. AND THE TRUCK DELIVERY COMPANY. UNPACKER MUST ONLY LIFT AND MOVE TUB PROPERLY AS DIRECTED. DO NOT LIFT TUB OUT OF ITS SHIPPING PACKAGING BY ITS PLUMBING FIXTURES OR ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS; DO NOT DRAG TUB; DO NOT TILT TUB OR PLACE ON AN ANGLE WITH WEIGHT SUPPORTED BY ONLY TWO LEGS. CAREFULLY PLACE THE TUB ON A LEVEL FLOOR SURFACE.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH ANY OF THE ABOVE MAY VOID THE TUB'S WARRANTY.

PRIOR TO INSTALLATION

Important Note: Installer must read and follow all instructions in this Premier Installation Guide. Failure to do so, except with express written consent, may void the Warranty. Important Note: It is the installer's responsibility to obtain all required state and governmental licenses and permits (according to local code enforcement requisites) prior to starting the installation. Any liability for the failure to do so will solely be borne by the installer. Important Note: Immediately after removing the Walk-in Tub from its crating and packaging inspect all electrical and plumbing fittings and, door handle. Except for the door hinge, tighten (do not over-tighten) all loose connections as appropriate. Do not alter or tamper with the hinge or try to get a closer fit on the seal (except instructed by the manufacturer.)

DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN ANY BOLTS. The bathtubs are completely water tested prior to leaving the factory and all the door tolerances and clearances are factory set. TAMPERING WITH THE HINGE OR DOOR SEAL WILL VOID THE WARRANTY.

The Premier Walk-In Bathtub Installation Guide

Installation Note: All components necessary for a complete installation are supplied except:

  • Plumbing and Electrical Tools
  • One (1) 120-AMP Electric Utility Box
  • One (1) Electric Utility Box w/ GFI Outlet
  • Two (2) 3/4" down to 1/2" adapters
  • White Silicone Sealant
  • One (1) 1-1/2" Tubular Waste Water Extension
  • Four (4) Plumber Pipe Straps

STEPS FOR INSTALLATION

  1. 1. The Walk-In Tub is supplied with a deck mounted faucet assembly. Most installations are done mounting the faucets on the deck into the pre drilled holes. There are five pieces to the faucet system Hot water control lever, Cold water control lever, Diverter lever, Roman tub spout, and the Hand held shower. Follow Instructions to install all five pieces onto the deck of the Walk-In bathtub. Next follow instruction diagram to connect all Flex water supply lines correctly (make sure all supply hoses have gaskets).
  2. 2. If the Walk-In Tub is replacing an existing tub or shower, First shut off water to bathroom (Check to make sure there is no water running to the shower) remove the existing bathtub or shower, being extra careful not to damage the surrounding areas. Before proceeding, thoroughly remove all debris and clean the installation area and surrounding area.

  4. 3. Find water supply and properly connect ball valves. (Make sure water supply lines are cut straight and are thoroughly cleaned and that valves are in the off position)
  5. 4. Make sure drainage lines are easily accessible. If not do the appropriate plumbing so that these lines are easily accessible.
  6. 5. Clean all debris from bathroom and bathtub area.
  7. 6. Make sure there is a clear route for the Walk-in bathtub to be carried in.
  8. 7. Measure all doorways to ensure the walk-in bathtub will fit. If not carefully remove the framing of the necessary doorways.
  9. 8. Bring walk-in bathtub into bathroom using clear route and place into desired location.
  10. 9. Heavy duty support leveling legs and not the bathtub's framework will be on the floor. Although the four corner leveling legs are most important for support, all leveling legs must rest flush on the floor, with the end result that the Tub is completely Level. Level the Walk-In Tub from the highest elevation point on the floor. Adjust all support leveling legs so that the bottom of the frame of the Walk-In Tub is level. Remember, all legs must rest flush on the floor.
  11. 10. Use an extra long level (at least 5') to insure Tub is level before proceeding any further. Remember to use the bottom of the Tub's frame for leveling.
  12. 11. Connect hot and cold supply lines to proper flex hoses using 3/4" male adapters.
  13. 12. Attach drain using 1 1/2 Drain pipe making sure that all drainage is at a 1/8" decline
  14. 13. Ensure that the top edges against all walls are sound. Make sure walk-in bathtub is securely in desired location. Use screws to secure feet soundly to the ground.

  15. Now to build custom fill box
  16. 14. Use 2"x 2" pressure treated studs to frame in custom fill box (4 studs should be used). Make sure these are securely connected to frame studs.
  17. 15. Measure distance from the side of the walk-in tub to wall (Use 2 or more measurements). Cut the side custom panel to desired size.
    Remember: cut from side opposite the steel clips & leave enough extra space on the panel for clips to attach to the walk-in bathtub.
  18. 16. Repeat step for top custom panel.
  19. 17. Using steel clips attach panels to tub and use a powerful adhesive (such as: power grab) to secure panels to studs.
  20. 18. Use appropriate sealant on all spaces between bathtub and wall to ensure that no water can penetrate.

  21. Now its time to test the Fountain of youth walk-in bathtub

    In this section check for leaks after each step if there is a leak do the necessary plumbing to stop the leak than continue. Make sure you have plenty of towels to clean and absorb water if there are any leaks.

  22. 19. Turn the water to the bathroom back on. Check for any leakage.

  23. 20. Turn ball valve to the on position allowing water to flow. Check for any leakage.

  24. 21. Turn hot and cold levers to the on position and use diverter to alternate water from the roman tub spout to the handheld shower. (Make sure door is securely closed at this point). Check for any leakage.

  25. 22. Close drain by turning the easy to reach chrome overflow handle and allow the walk-in bathtub to fill to about 10". Let this water set and check bottom jets and door for leakage.

  26. 23. Now fill bathtub about 2" above all jets and check all jets and the door of the tub for any leakage.

  27. 24. Turn on the Hydro-Therapy by pressing the easy to reach button. Check for any leakage.

  28. 25. Drain the walk-in bathtub by turning the easy to reach chrome overflow. Check for any leakage.

  29. 26. install a 110-120W, 20-AMP electrical utility box (not supplied) on the back wall, 6"-8" from the floor near the rear of the Tub where the seat is located. Run electrical service to the box,

    Important Note: A licensed electrician may be required for this part of the Installation. Check local codes for information. Failure to use a licensedelectrician, if required, may void the Warranty.

    Install a 110-120W, 20-AMP, GFI outlet (not supplied.). This GFI outlet with recess buttons. TEST/RESET: Run Ground Fault Interruption tests to make certain the GFI outlet functions properly. Explain the functions and demonstrate the GFI outlet recess buttons to the customer.
  30. 27. If any additional fixtures fastened to the wall are required, i.e. grab rails (not included with Tub), shower attachments, etc., carefully drill any holes that are needed and install the fixtures. Use only the correct size drill cutter and bits to maintain the integrity of the water-tight seal in the area being drilled. Important: Do not install any accessories directly to the Walk-In Tub that are not specifically authorized Fountain of Youth Bathrooms INC. Doing so will void the warranty.
  31. 28. Reassemble all necessary door frames.
  32. 29. Clean the bathroom and bathtub leaving the tub spotless and the house in the condition it was in when you have arrived. Thoroughly clean the exposed Walk-In Tub surfaces, removing all installation debris, dust and materials. Do not use abrasive cleaning materials or solvents such as steel wool, metal pads, ammonia and bleach compounds, acid, etc. Clean with a soft sponge or cloth using a mild liquid dishwasher detergent. If the surface becomes dull after cleaning the Walk-In Tub, use a paste wax (such as a good quality car wax) to bring the area back to its original luster.
  33. 30. Finally bring the customer into the bathroom and show them the finished product. Explain to them the features of there new Walk-In bathtub as well as how to properly use it.
  34. 31. After installation and cleaning is complete, demonstrate the Walk-In Tub's features and use and make certain the customer is also aware of our: Tips and Warnings

Tips and Warnings

  • Children and severely handicapped individuals, should not be allowed to use the Tub, unless under close adult supervision.
  • Electrical devices (such as a hair dryer, telephones reading lamp, electric shaver charger, radios, television sets, etc.) should not be allowed anywhere near the Tub while in use.
  • Prior to using the Tub, users with known medical conditions, such as pregnancy, kidney Disease, diabetes, heart problems, high/low blood pressure, etc., should discuss appropriate use with their professional medical advisors. Users on prescription or overthe-counter medications should also consult their medical advisor before use.
  • Use of drugs and/or alcoholic beverages before or during Tub use can lead to loss of consciousness and potentially drowning.
  • Other than for purposes described in the Customer "Use & Care Guide", any other use or misuse will invalidate the Warranty.
  • Door Handles are for entering and exiting the Walk-In Tub. Door handles are not to beused as grab bars and doing so can compromise the integrity of the water-tight seal and may void the warranty.
  • Interfering, modifying, disassembling or changing the installer's installation of any ofthe mechanical, electrical and structural parts, without express written permission of Fountain of Youth Bathrooms INC. will void the warranty and could subject the user to bodily harm.
  • Keep the areas adjacent to the Tub and in particular in front of the door, clean and dry. A non-slip mat is highly recommended.
  • If while running the hydrotherapy system unusual noises, odors or smoke is noticed, push the "TEST" button on the GFI socket to interrupt power and call a licensed electrician.
  • Never insert any object of any kind into slots, jets, and openings on the Tub. Doing so could create a risk of shock.
  • Do not fill the Tub with water above the threshold prior to entering it and securely closing the door.
  • Although we recommend that temperatures of the bath water should never exceed 104'(F) and use should be limited to approximately 15 to 20 minutes, followed by a cool shower, you should always consult your professional medical advisor and follow his/her advice on these matters. Considerably lower temperatures are suggested for children and extended use beyond 20-25 minutes, but here too, you should always consult your child's professional medical advisor and follow his/her advice on these matters.
  • Never use the Tub during a lightning storm as this could create a risk of electrical shock.
